Middleburgh- Eugene W. Evans, 66, of Main Street, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at his home following a long illness.
Eugene was born on October 19, 1949 in Lynn, MA.
He worked at Kleen Laundry in Lebanon, NH before moving to Middleburgh in 2007.
Eugene loved eagles, being outdoors, motorcycles, Western movies, Oldies and Country music and he was very proud of his Native American heritage.
He was predeceased by his step-parents: Nettie and Walter Carter; grandmother: Elizabeth Skinner; great-grandmother: Emma Mary Carter.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Brenda J. (White) Evans, of Middleburgh, whom he married on April 26, 1972; son: William Evans of Lebanon, NH; sisters: Wanda (Donald) Woodbeck of Middleburgh, Corinne (Joseph) Gursky of Copake; grandchildren: Marilyn Evans and William Evans, Jr. of Lebanon, NH and many other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00PM on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh. Rev. Maryellen Moore of the Middleburgh United Methodist Church will officiate. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 5:00PM-6:00PM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Cremation and inurnment will be private.
