Duanesburg- Ethel M Johns, age 94, passed away Saturday, April 26 at the home of her granddaughter in Duanesburg. She was born on January 3, 1920 to Aldis J. and Flossie M. (Smith) Butler in Richmondville, NY.
She married LeRoy Johns on June 19, 1941 and they lived in Beards Hollow throughout their marriage.
Ethel is survived by her daughter Betty L. Biittig (Edward) of Duanesburg, granddaughters Shannon L. Gordon (Matt Malpezzi) of Duanesburg, Tracy Hallsworth (Mark) of Palm Bay, Florida, grandson, Edward Biittig, Jr. (Julie) of Scotia, Great-Grandsons, David H. Cook, Jr. serving in the USAF in Germany, Tyler C. Cook of Palm Bay, Florida and Andrew Biittig of Scotia, one Great-Granddaughter, Lila G. Biittig of Scotia and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, an infant sister, Alfreda and four brothers, George, Leon, Glenn and Ivan.
At her request there will be a graveside service at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Richmondville Rural Cemetery.
