East Berne-Ethel M. German, 73, of Thompson Lake Road, formerly of Middleburgh, died Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Albany Medical Center following a brief illness.
Ethel was born on March 20, 1942 in Carlisle, NY to Cecil (Marsh) and Charles Schrom.
She worked as a Certified Nurse's Assistant at Eden Park in Cobleskill before retiring.
Ethel loved to play bingo and enjoyed camping, boating, being outdoors and vacationing with her family.
She was married to Richard German, Sr. from September 21, 1959 until he predeceased her on June 3, 2012.
Ethel is survived by: daughters: Regina (John) Bailey of Berne, Elaine (David, Sr.) Diamond of Middleburgh, Starleen (John) Wood of West Fulton; sons: Richard (Anna) German, Jr. of West Fulton, Rodney (Tammy) German of Schenectady, Ronald (Jamie) German of Scotia, Tracy German of Berne, James German of Schenectady; sisters: Marion (John) Bender of Schoharie, Carol Williams of Schenectady; brothers: Lawrence (Ida) Schrom of Gilboa, Charles (Diane) Schrom, Sr. of Schoharie, Roger (Christine) Schrom, Sr. of Gallupville; 28 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 7 pm at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River Street, Middleburgh. A calling hour will be held from 6-7 pm prior to the service. Spring inurnment will be in Gallupville Rural Cemetery.
