Esther Woodbeck

Esther C. Woodbeck, age 88, of Cobleskill, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Albany Medical Center.

She was born in Brooklyn on January 24, 1930, a daughter of the late Gregory and Elizabeth Rooney Croston.

Esther worked as a machine operator at the Beechnut Corporation in Canajoharie for over 30 years. She later worked alongside her husband, Charles, at their local business Woodbeck Liquors in Cobleskill. Mrs. Woodbeck was an avid provider for the Schoharie County Animal Shelter.

Esther is survived by her two sons: Andrew Lawyer (Sharon) of Cobleskill and David Lawyer of Cobleskill,; one brother, Jobe Croston (Barbara) of Florida; one grandson, Tyler Lawyer (Katryna); one great- granddaughter, Liliana Lawyer and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Woodbeck was predeceased by her husband, Charles Woodbeck, whom she married in 1982 and whom passed oin 1999 and one sister, Elizabeth Garret.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Spring interment will be in Slate Hill Cemetery, Town of Sharon.
