Cobleskill- Esther M. Miller, 85, of Pleasantview Drive, died Sunday, April 24, 2011 at her home with her family at her side, following a brief illness.

She was born Esther Mae Lawyer on December 30, 1925, in Worcester, NY, a daughter of the late Josephine (Acker) and Edgar T. Lawyer.

Esther attended the former Cobleskill High School and was employed at the former P&C Foods in Cobleskill for twenty-two years, where she worked in the meat department. Her previous employers include Singer's Sewing Factory, Beech Nut and Save Way.

Esther was a wonderfully warm, loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend. Her hobbies included drawing, plastic canvas, crafts and visiting with family and friends.

She also enjoyed going to the senior meal-site and McDonalds for coffee with friends.

Esther was predeceased by her husband, Donald S. Miller on October 21, 2001, sisters: Ardith Miller and Barbara Canfield and her brother: Edgar T. Lawyer, Jr.

Esther is survived by her daughter: Pamela (Thomas) Sherman of Cobleskill; sons: Gary (Barbara) Moore of Cobleskill, Calvin (Marie) Moore of Port Charlotte, FL; grandchildren: Scott (Lillian) Moore of Delhi, Colleen Moore of Cobleskill, Michael Moore of Punta Gorda, FL., Sanya Travell of Worcester, Dawn Sherman of Richmondville, Tom Sherman, Jr. of Delanson; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Reverend Donald Klob officiating. Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
