Esther Michinski

Summit-Esther Michinski, 87, of Summit died Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Bassett Medical Center with her loving family at her side.
Born September 2, 1935, in Westbury, NY she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Emma (Stackey) Nickel.
Esther attended Westbury High School and then worked at her family’s greenhouses and floral shop, Gabrielson’s. She married Robert Michinski on June 19, 1954, and together they raised their two children and enjoyed the many years of happiness. They would often travel to Schoharie County and would stay near her sister in Jefferson. After many years, they relocated to Summit as fulltime residents.
Esther and Bob traveled throughout the United States as well as trips to Europe and many cruises. While at home, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting and most importantly, treasuring time spent with all her family.
She was predeceased by her son, Robbie Michinski, in 1969.
Cherishing their memories of Esther are her husband, Robert Michinski; her two children: Karen (Tony) LaCentra of Cobleskill and Frank (Sue) Michinski of FL; four grandchildren: Kristi LaCentra, Nicole LaCentra, Alissa Voesack and Anthony LaCentra; six great-grandchildren: Max, Mason, Jordan, Ella, Anthony, and McKenna; and her sister, Ruth Endresen of Jefferson.
Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held from 3 to 4 PM on Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St. Cobleskill. A prayer service will commence at 4PM with Rev. David Houck as celebrant. Cremation will follow the service at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
