Sloansville, NY: Ernest D. "Butch" Kuhn, 67, of Beckers Corners Road, died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, N.Y. following a brief illness.
Butch was born in Cobleskill, NY on July 17, 1943, a son of the late Mary (DeCator) and William Kuhn. His father predeceased him while serving in the military during WW II. Later on in years he lived with his mother and her second husband, Donald Filmer.
Butch enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching Western movies and was a John Wayne fan. His greatest love was his family, especially his great-nephews, Tanner and Donavin.
Butch is survived by his sister: Elaine (Robert) Hotaling of Sloansville, N.Y.; nephew: James (Rachel) Hotaling of Sloansville, N.Y.; great-nephews: Tanner and Donavin Hotaling of Sloansville, N.Y.; brothers: Frank (Marlene) Filmer of Lenoir City, TN., Gary (Barbara) Filmer of Lenoir City, TN., Robert (Carol) Filmer of Starkville, N.Y., Roger (Diane) Filmer of Schenectady, N.Y.; nieces and nephews; an aunt: Betty Borst of Middleburgh, N.Y. and many cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday January 16, 2010 at the Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh, N.Y. Rev. Carol Coltrain of the Huntersland United Methodist Church will officiate. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Sunday, prior to the service. Spring interment will be in Middleburgh Cemetery.
