Cobleskill- Eleanor C. Walsh, 88, of Union St., passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 30, 1934, she was the daughter of Eugene and Mary (Kelly) Caton.
Eleanor married Francis E. Walsh on June 5, 1965, and he predeceased her on November 24, 2000. They moved to Cobleskill from Brooklyn in June 1982.
She was a devoted parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cobleskill. Eleanor enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan and a puzzle enthusiast.
Forever treasuring Eleanor's memories are her seven children: Eleanor (Chris) Klepper of Tappan, NY, Bill (Tina) Walsh of Raleigh, NC, Marijeanne (Michael) Broadwell of Carlisle, NY, James Walsh of Youngsville, NC, Kathleen (Joel) Briggs of Cobleskill, NY, Anne Marie (Stefan) Kovac of Middleburgh, NY, Patricia (Daniel) Ellegood of Winnabow, NC; twenty grandchildren: Christopher Klepper, Matthew Klepper, Jillian Klepper, Caroline Klepper, Maria Klepper, Kevin Walsh, Caellie Evans, Stephanie Rogers, Jenevieve Gaylor, Gabrielle Broadwell, Ryanne Broadwell, Joel Briggs, Katherine Briggs, Daniel Briggs, Alix Kovac, Kassidy Kovac, Devin Ellegood, Brayden Ellegood, Logan Ellegood and Caton Ellegood and her twin brother, Franklin D. (Agatha) Caton of Nyack, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday, August 1st at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with Rev. Joseph Arockiasomy as celebrant. Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held on Sunday, July 31st from 4 to 7 PM at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Burial will be in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Cobleskill.
