Middleburgh- Mrs.Eleanor C. Brodie, 85, of Gorge Rd., died Saturday March 21, 2009 at the Cobleskill Regional Hospital, Cobleskill, NY following a brief illness.

Mrs. Brodie was born in the Town of Middlefield, NY on March 26, 1923 a daughter of the late Charlotte (Porath) and Claude Camp.

She attended school in Cooperstown, NY and was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, camping and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Brodie was predeceased by her son; Raymond H. Brodie, Jr.; grandson, Joshua Brodie; sister, Harriet Kenyon, and brother, Claude Camp.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond H. Brodie, Sr. of Middleburgh, NY whom she married on March 26, 1941, and a daughter, Donna (Earl) Van Horn of Milledgeville, GA; sons, Stephen (Beverly) Brodie, Sr. of Delanson, NY, Thomas Brodie of Breakabeen, NY; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; four sisters: Florence Harris of Illinois, Claudine Haig of Cherry Valley, NY, Janet Hotaling of Rochester, NY, Brenda (William) Hildenbrant of North Carolina; aunt, Marge Gallup of Cooperstown, NY, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday March 25, 2009 at the Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh, NY. Rev. Carol Coltrain from the Huntersland United Methodist Church will officiate. Inurnment will follow the service in the Middleburgh Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 10-11 AM, Wednesday prior to the service.
