Eileen Slater

Eileen F. Slater passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at the age of 81, at home with family and loved ones by her side following a short battle with cancer.

Eileen worked at Eden Park Nursing Home for 35 years.  She was a member of the Cobleskill Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary.  She loved reading her romance novels and sitting on the porch enjoying a bright, sunny day.

Eileen was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Slater and her sister, Agnes O’Boyle.

She is survived by eight children:  Philip (Sandy) Slater, Robert Slater, Theresa (Perry) Schroder, Thomas (Brenda) Slater, Stephen (MaryJo) Slater, Penny (Weslie) Baldwin, Joan (Robert) Palmatier, Richard (Sherry) Slater; several grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, one great-great-great-grandson; and her sister, Gertrude Smith and her sons.

A funeral service will be held at 7 PM on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Robert Stark as celebrant.  Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held prior to the service from 5 to 7PM on Friday.  Cremation will follow the service and inurnment will be in Lawyersville Cemetery.
