Howes Cave- Edward Kolakowski, 70, of Zicha Road, died Saturday, January 28, 2016 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.
Ed was born December 14, 1946 in Glen Cove, NY and was the son of Walter and Alice (Williams) Kolakowski.
He was a 1964 graduate from Hicksville High School on Long Island.
Ed was a former member of National Rifle Association, volunteered for the Animal Shelter of Schoharie County, and rescued two dogs. He worked for many years at, and retired from, Environment One in Niskayuna, NY as an Electro Mechanical Technician.
He is survived by his son, Eric Kolakowski of Cohoes, NY, his former wife and companion, Marian Kolakowski of Howes Cave, several siblings with a special bond to his sister Lorraine "Lori" Muller of Round Top, NY, and his Best Friend and Brother in Law, Walter "Lew" Lewinski of Howes Cave.
By the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ed's name to the Animal Shelter of Schoharie County, Inc., PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
