COBLESKILL- Edward J. Keller, 60, of Hubb Shutts Road, died at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY on Saturday, December 21, 2013 after a courageous battle against cancer.

Ed was born September 5, 1953, in Cobleskill, NY and was the son of the late Karold and Ethel Rose (Hayden) Keller.

He worked for years as a farm hand at Kellcreek Farm and then a few years at Eureka Farms in Grovenors Corners before he was employed in the Maintenance Department at Price Chopper Supermarket in Cobleskill. Ed enjoyed gardening and the beauty that flowers bring to the world.

He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Dorcus Keller.

Ed is survived by his long time companion, Donna Gibson of Cobleskill, his siblings: Donald (Wanda) Keller of Schoharie, Leon (Darlene) Keller of Prescott, MI, Carleta (Jacob) Crewell of Fort Plain, Cheryl (Anthony) DiPace of Sharon Springs, Linda Butler of Cobleskill, Carole Thorington of Central Bridge, Darleen (David) Laraway of Sloansville, Judith (Joseph) Sanganetti of Esperance, Cindy Slater of Esperance, and Rosemary (George) Wilber of Howes Cave, as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY with Rev. Steffen Zehrfuhs officiating. Public visitation will be from 10-11:00 am prior to the service. Burial will be in the spring at Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
