Edward Hornung

Warnerville – Edward Hornung, 87, of Warnerville, passed away on March 6, 2018.  He was born in Haverstraw, New York, on July 14, 1930 to Edward and Elizabeth Hornung.  He graduated from Congers High School in 1948.  Ed married Faye Kopenhaver in 1950, and they had three children.  Ed was a devoted Mets fan who loved baseball.  He worked many years as a grocery store manager in Nyack and Cobleskill, New York and Closter and Montvale, New Jersey.

He is survived by his two sons, Edward (Jane) Hornung and Steve (Mary Harrison) Hornung and his daughter, Lynda (Don) Gies, and six grandchildren, Melissa (John) Armour, Suzanne (Kirk) Muente, Scott Hornung, Robert (Allie) Hornung, Donnie and Gwendolyn Gies, and three great-grandchildren, Kyla Muente, Adelina and Emmeline Armour.  Ed is also survived by his brother, Robert (Kay) Hornung.  He was predeceased by a sister, Marilyn (Curley) Fieldson.

Ed recently stated that he “liked everyone he ever met.”  He will leave behind countless friends made during his life.  Ed requested that there be no funeral services.
