Edward A. "Ted" Becker, 63, of Charles Court, died Monday March 2, 2009 at Health Central in Ocoee, Florida, following a brief illness.
Mr. Becker was born on January 13, 1946 in Schenectady, NY, a son of the late Marion E. (Wright) and Lyman D. Becker, Sr.
Before retiring, Mr. Becker was a employed as a Purchasing Agent for the Department of Standards and Purchasing in Albany, NY. He was a former volunteer with the Middleburgh Volunteer Fire Department and was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Vernice B. "Bea" (Davis) Becker and daughter, Tammie R. and husband Mike King of Orlando, FL. granddaughter Heather King and great-grandson Aiden Correa of Albany, NY; son, Edward L. "Teddy" his wife, Wendy Becker, granddaughters Ann Emerick, Lindsey Becker and grandson Evan Becker all of Coupeville, WA.; son Ernest A. Becker of Middleburgh, NY; brothers Lyman D. and wife Doris Becker, Jr. of Murphy, NC; Ronald and wife Sharon Becker of Middleburgh, NY.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St. Middleburgh, NY. Pastor Jeff Rauhauser of the Middleburgh United Methodist Church will officiate. Spring interment will be in the Old Stone Fort Cemetery, Schoharie, NY. There will be no public visitation.
