Seward- Edmund Richard Terk, 68, of State Route 10 died Friday, November 7, 2014 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

Born September 21, 1946 in Cooperstown, he was the son of Leon and Shirley (Dauley) Terk.

Ed was a lifelong area resident and retired from SUNY Cobleskill where he was a stationary engineer.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting, woodworking, and socializing with friends at the "local watering hole".

He was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl (Ernie) Betts.

Survivors include his wife: Shirley (Wainwright) Terk, whom he married December 2, 1978; his children: Gina (Douglas) Angle of Wylie, TX, and Benjamin (Vicki) Terk of Wolfe City, TX; his brother: Arthur Terk of North Blenheim; sister-in-law: Linda (Richard) Albert of Cobleskill; seven grandchildren: Jessica (Joseph) Pardue, Jason (Sadie) Betts, Daniel Angle, Rachel Angle, David Angle, Tommy Terk, and Zach Morris; and two great-grandchildren: Jayla and Lillie.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Officiating will be Rev. Pamela Mikel-Hayes of the Cobleskill United Methodist Church. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Zion Rural Cemetery.
