Cobleskill- Edith I. Hadsell, 71, of North Street, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital after being stricken at home.
Born January 15, 1939 in Richmondville, she was the daughter of Lester and Elda (Clapper) Hadsell, Sr.
Edith was a lifelong area resident and was a member of the Cobleskill Wesleyan Church. For twenty-five years she worked as a nurse's aide at the former Eden Park Nursing Home in Cobleskill. At one time she was employed at the Schoharie County Cooperative Extension in Cobleskill and had also worked for a short time at the former Chef Bill's in Cobleskill as a salad chef.
Edith enjoyed playing Bingo, crocheting and crafts.
Survivors include her son: Robert Proudman of Gilboa; three nephews: Richard A. Hadsell of Hampton, VA, Lester C. Hadsell III of Troy, NY, and Herbert H. Van Natten, Jr. of Cobleskill; her niece: Frances E. Dibble of Cherry Valley; and a sister-in-law: Betty Van Natten of Cobleskill.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St. Cobleskill, NY with Rev. Donald Klob officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home, prior to the service on Monday from 10 to 11 AM. Spring interment will be in Breakabeen Cemetery.
