Dorwin Harrington,

Cobleskill- Dorwin L. Harrington, Sr., entered into eternal peace at the age of 94 on Friday, November 19, 2010 at his home on Mineral Springs Road, Cobleskill with his daughter, Ruth, son-in-law, Imer, granddaughter, Christy, and aide, Vickie at his side.

He was born May 25, 1916 in the town of Summit and was the son of Myrtle and Cornelius Harrington.

Dorwin was married to Pearl Roe on January 16, 1940 in Prattsville, NY and she predeceased him on August 6, 2009. He lived most of his life in the Cobleskill area and was at his present residence for the past 56 years.

Dorwin worked on farms in his earlier years and retired from Niagara Mohawk in 1979 with over 30 years of service.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, and his home. Most of all he enjoyed his family of three children, Ruth (Imer) Hayes of Cobleskill, Dorwin (Nancy) Harrington, Jr. of Carlisle Center and Laura (Joe) Fancher formerly of Cobleskill.

He is also survived by grandchildren: Christy (Kyle) Marshall of Oneida, Doreen (Gary) Hotaling of Sharon Springs, Beth (Argon) Nelsen of Stamford, NY, Dean (Christine) Harrington of Carlisle Center, Annette (Ken) Carter of Redford, NY, Becky (Jeff) Carter of Saranac, NY, Imer (Sandra) Hayes, Jr. of Worcester, NY and Bill Hayes (Tracy Scott) of Florida.

Dorwin is also survived great-grandchildren: Trent Perry, Robert Nelsen of Stamford, Nathaniel and Nicholas Marshall of Oneida, Cody Hotaling of Sharon Springs, Amanda Kristofer and Shannon Harrington of Carlisle Center, Ashley Hayes and Shabrisa Civitello of Oneonta, Taylor Ann Scott of Florida and Laurie and Amy Carter of Saranac.

Dorwin was predeceased by a great-grandson, Brandon Hotaling and brothers, Willis, Gordon, and Lynn, along with his sister, Edna.

Services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
