Dorothy Wright

Sharon Springs- Dorothy A. Wright, 82, of Herman Road, died Saturday, January 14, 2017 at her residence in the company of her loving family.

Born January 4, 1935 in Windham, NY, she was the daughter of Helen (Ward) and Wilsey Judd.

Dorothy was a mother and grandmother primarily. She also worked outside of the home at the Imperial Baths and seasonally at Sunny Crest Orchards in Sharon Springs. She was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Cobleskill.

She married William Edward Wright on Nov. 28, 1950 and he predeceased her on May 25, 1988, along with her sister, Mabel Cummings, who died last year.

Survivors include her children: James (Cindi) Wright, Maureen (Kurt) Keller, Kathleen (Michael) Ghee, William (Marcelia) Wright, Jr., Eileen (Robert) Foran, Colleen (George) Takacs, Jeannine (Lawrence) VanDeusen, Matthew (Anne) Wright, Helene (David) Phelan, and Vincent (Lori) Wright; her brother, John Judd of Sharon Springs; her sister, Linda Porter of Broadalbin; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

A period of visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following at 12 PM. Celebrant will be Rev. James Donlon. Burial will be in Slate Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home of Middleburgh.
