Seward- Dorothy L. Szemplenski, 90, of Hill Road, died Monday, May 7, 2012 at Suffolk Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Patchogue following a brief illness.
Born September 19, 1921 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of George and Mary (Kroder) Davies.
Dorothy had been a housekeeper for the Diocese of Rockville Center in Center Islip while living in that area. Later she was employed at Schoharie County Department of Social Services.
She was the beloved widow of the late John Szemplenski, who died in 1984. Dorothy was a dearly loved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Vena Ray officiating. An hour of visitation to be held prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 1 PM. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
