Dorothy M. Ostrom, 93, formerly of Richmondville, died Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 in the comfort of her home with her loving family at her side.

Born May 11, 1927 in Summit, she was the daughter of Ford E. and Marguerite (Hogensen) Dauley.

She married John William Ostrom on March 30, 1945.  Dorothy was a long standing member of the Richmondville American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, taught Sunday school at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd until moving to Tennessee.  Family time was special to Dorothy- holiday celebrations, game night, sing alongs -she enjoyed the together times.

Dorothy retired from the former Cobleskill Community Hospital as an operating room technician and in 1994 the family moved to Tennessee.

She was predeceased by her husband, John William Ostrom on May 12, 1995.

She is survived by two daughters: Dorald Kleitz (Patrick) of East Aurora, NY and Donna Brown (Alan) of McEwen, TN;  Two Granddaughters: Kristin Binkley of McEwen, TN, Bekki Konopa of E. Aurora, NY; Three grandsons: Matthew Brown of McEwen, TN, Jared Kleitz of Marillia, N.Y, Todd Kleitz of Marilla, NY;  Eleven great-grandchildren: Kelsey Allen, Madison Burkett, Kimber Charlton, Trey Kleitz, Justus Kleitz, Indiana Kleitz, Shiloh Kleitz, Trevor Konopa, Ava Konopa, Levi Konopa and Kamdyn Konopa; and a great-great-grandson, Thomas Burkett.

Private funeral and visitation will be held at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, NY with the burial following in Richmondville Rural Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Christian Church,  1050 Girdle Rd. East Aurora, New York 14052.
