Hyndsville-Dorothy A. Montanye, (nee Cappelmann) 84, a resident of Clove Road for 58 years, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
Born January 27, 1932 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Harry E. and Anna (Seba) Cappelmann.
Dottie was a certified home health aide and worked private duty. She worked at the election board in Seward and in Ulster County, where she lived previously. She was also a member of the Marbletown Fire Dept. Auxiliary.
Dottie enjoyed crocheting and would often donate her crafts to both SCAAP and the Animal Shelter to assist in their fund raising events. She did rug hooking and would reuse shopping bags to create larger shopping bags or purses.
Playing computer games led her to discover new friendships that developed into the Internet Reunion, where she and her new friends would actually travel with their RV and meet each other in person. Dottie and her husband traveled to 40 of the states attending his Navy reunions.
Dottie was a loving, kind, sweet person, who never said a bad word about anyone and she is remembered as being a wonderful confidant to her daughter.
Her beloved husband, Cyrus (Rusty) of 63 years survives along with her daughters: Carol Summers of Colorado and Nancy Coogan of Schoharie; grandchildren: Jacob and Autumn; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in conjunction with her husband, Cyrus', service at 11 AM on Wed., October 2, 2019 at Zion Rural Cemetery, Seward, NY
In lieu of flowers, family and friends wishing to express condolences may make a contribution in her name to a charity of their choice.
