Mahopac: Dorothy N. Frisbie, 93, died March 19, 2014 following complications from a stroke, with her daughter by her side.

She was born in Schenectady, NY on January 10, 1921 the daughter of Anna (Lindner) and Harry P. Newkirk.

She graduated from Albany State Teachers College in 1942 becoming an English teacher for 38 years. She went on to earn a B.S. Degree in
Library Science and retired in 1983 as a Librarian.

Dorothy was an avid reader of books and the NY Times and she was a great New York Yankees fan. Dorothy loved to cook and was a loving wife and mom to her family.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Daniel M. Frisbie Jr. of Mahopac; son: Daniel M. Frisbie, III and his wife Susan of Canterbury, NH; daughter: Alison N. Frisbie of Plympton, MA.; granddaughter Sarah Mullin and her husband Scott, and great granddaughter Reese all of Amherst, NH.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday March 24, 2014 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River Street, Middleburgh, NY. Rev. Carol Coltrain of the Huntersland United Methodist Church will officiate. A period of visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Spring interment will be in the Middleburgh Cemetery.
