Dorothy Egnaczyk

Sharon Springs- Dorothy M. Egnaczyk, 82, of Highway Route 20, died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at her daughter's home in Sharon Springs.

Born February 13, 1934 in Cobleskill, she was the daughter of Harvey and Marion (Mallett) Schrader.

Dorothy was a lifelong area resident and a homemaker and found pleasure in raising her family and spending time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and making crafts with plastic canvas.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Egnaczyk; her four children: Brenda (Thomas) All of Sharon Springs, Melody Pollitt of Cherry Valley, William Bailey of Schoharie and Cynthia Friers of Fultonville; three sisters: Shirley Bailey of Richmondville, Crystal Cartwright of Schuylerville, and Ruth Fridow of Glenville; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Bert Mayne of the Carlisle Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Slate Hill Cemetery, Sharon, NY.
