Doris Sells

Cobleskill- Doris Sells, 95, formerly of Cobleskill, died Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Palatine Nursing Home in Palatine Bridge where she had resided the past several years.

Born March 31, 1925 in Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of Jesse J. and Agnes (Summers) Rushing.

Doris resided in Rotterdam and in the 1960’s moved to Duanesburg where she lived for many years and became a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima.  In 2002 she moved to the Cobleskill area.

Doris retired from the former St. Clare’s Hospital in Schenectady where she was a secretary.

Her husband, John W. Sells, Sr., predeceased her in 1996.

Survivors include her two sons:  John “Jack” (Joyce) Sells, Jr. of Cobleskill and Daniel B. (Katie) Sells of Duanesburg; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held for the family at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Schenectady.  Memorial contributions may be made Northeastern NY Alzheimer’s Assoc., 4 Pine West Plaza, #405, Albany, NY 12205.
