Donna Lee Olsen, 78, of Church Street, Sharon Springs, New York died Monday, September 21, 2026, at Cobleskill Regional Hospital, following a battle with Parkinson's disease.

Born November 29, 1947, in Cobleskill, NY, she was the daughter of Donald Kane and Muriel Pratt Kane. She was a graduate of Sharon Springs High School, Class of 1965 and was a lifelong resident of the local area.

Donna was a Dental Hygenist for Dr. Stein in Sharon for several years. She would volunteer and run events like the Schoharie County Country Music Festival, and the Festival Farmer's Market, which she and her husband ran for 25 years. She also worked for the Cobleskill Art's Council and Sharon School in their resource room. Her favorite job of all was being a mother and homemaker. She loved spending time with her family.

She was the Commissioner for Carlisle Volunteer Fire Department for several years.

Donna was an avid reader. She was Salutatorian of her graduating Class. She enjoyed country music, the Beetles, and singing. She loved to spend time with her husband and they both enjoyed watching old westerns together. She was a #1 fan of the band, Alabama, traveling to see them at many different locations. She loved to draw, sketch, and tend to her garden.

On June 1, 1968, at a church in Argusville, Donna was married to Charles Robert Olsen. Their wedding just happened to be the very last event ever held in that church, although the church still stands today.

She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Donald Kane, Jr.

Donna is survived by her loving husband of over 58 years, Charles Robert Olsen; daughters, Kristen Olsen, Jodi Olsen; grandson, Michael Olsen; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family.
