Richmondville – Donald H. Tinklepaugh, 85, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018.

Born in Charlotteville the son of Harold and Essie (Nichols) Tinklepaugh.

Donald was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Korea from 1952 to 1954.  Employed at General Electric in Schenectady, Bldg 28, for 34 years as a Metals Fatigue Technician.  He was a current member of the American Legion Post and the Richmondville Cemetery Association, and former member of the Charlotteville Cemetery Association and retired member of the Richmondville Volunteer Fire Department.

He was predeceased by his wife, Alice (Burger) on September 8, 2010, and his teenage grandson, Alex Klafehn, on November 22, 2011.

Cherishing his memories are his brother Douglas (Kathy) Tinklepaugh of Canastota, son Dan (Mary) Tinklepaugh of Guthrie, OK, daughter, Diane (David) Klafehn of Spencerport NY, granddaughters Caroline (Bryce) Harrah and Audrey Klafehn and great-granddaughter, Nora, several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to be held at 1PM on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill where a period of visitation will be held prior to the service from 11 AM to 1 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed toward either the Richmondville Cemetery Association or the Richmondville Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 481, Richmondville, NY  12149.
