Donald Hagadorn Sr

Palatine Bridge- Donald Hagadorn, Sr., 82, of Palatine Bridge, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015 after a lengthy illness.

Born August 11, 1933 in Dorloo, he was the son of the late Harold and Florence (McMann) Hagadorn. Don was raised in Dorloo and married Evelyn Hotaling on September 20, 1958. He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean conflict and received an honorable discharge.

Donald retired as a laborer at Coleco Industries in Amsterdam. He was an avid sportsman and had a green thumb for his vegetable gardens. Donald resided in the Canajoharie area most of his adult life.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his four brothers: Robert, Clarence, Richard and Douglas.

Survivors include his four children: Cherie (Dan) Hallstein of Fort Plain, Donald Hagadorn, Jr. of Palatine Bridge, Timothy (Tammy) Hagadorn of Fort Plain, and Harold Hagadorn of Canajoharie; nine grandchildren: Stacey, Jennifer (Shane), Sarah Beth (Vic) and Jessica Hagadorn, Nathaniel (Meghan) and Brandon Hallstein, Kelsey and Alexis Hagadorn, and Ian (Kendra) Hagadorn; five great-grandchildren and one expected in September that Donald was excitedly awaiting the baby's arrival; three siblings: Betty Prentice of East Worcester, Harold "Pooch" Hagadorn of Richmondville, and Keith "Rollie" Hagadorn of Dorloo; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Alan Griffith officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 6 to 8 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Seward Valley Cemetery.
