Donald Durfee

Gallupville: Donald G. Durfee, 83, of Sellick Road, died Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Capital Living Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in Schenectady, following a brief illness.

Donald was born on August 31, 1931 in Middleburgh, a son of Lily D. (Turner) and George W. Durfee.

Donald served in the United States Army from 1956-1958.

He was a hay dealer for many years and also worked as a driver at T-Car in Schenectady before retiring.

Donald enjoyed antiques and was devoted to his family. He was an exceptionally loving husband to his wife, Patricia (Martin) Durfee, until she predeceased him in 2000.

He was also predeceased by his son: Gene Durfee.

Donald is survived by his daughters: Denise Robinson of Schoharie, Tracy Durfee of Schoharie; son: Darren Durfee of Gallupville. He is also survived by Don Durfee of Middleburgh; sister: Barbara (George) Bates of Virginia Beach; grandchildren: Sarah (John) Garner, Carrie (Dan) Pigott, Amy (Art) Dreyer, Lewis Robinson, Darren Durfee, James Durfee, Sean Durfee, Elizabeth Durfee; eight great -grandchildren; one niece and three nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St. Middleburgh, NY 12122. Rev. Carol Coltrain of the Huntersland United Methodist Church will officiate. Spring interment will be in the Gallupville Rural Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm, Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the funeral home.
