Donald L. Dargie, 81, of Hammerstone Village, Cobleskill, NY and formerly of Boston, MA passed away Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Bassett Healthcare of Cooperstown.

Born May 4, 1945, in Carlisle, NY he was the son of Kenneth Dargie and Esther Ruland Dargie. He graduated from CHS in 1963 and he served in the US Army from 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1966.

He worked as a chef for many years in Boston area restaurants, hotels, and colleges. He loved music, theater, movies, and could converse for hours on the subjects. No one could beat him at Rock and Roll and Movie trivia. He was an avid fan of Jeopardy,

He was predeceased by his siblings.

There will be no public services.

Contributions can be made to any humanitarian organization. Feeding the hungry and housing the less fortunate were most important in his life.

As a proud gay man, Donald was a lifetime liberal democrat and opposed war and all social injustices. Human rights for everyone played an important role in who he was. His last thoughts were farewell to all, life has been good.
