Diane Louise Vrooman

Diane Louise Vrooman, age 71, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center.
She was born on Thursday, July 2nd, 1953 in Cobleskill, NY, the daughter of the late Gertrude Zank and John A. Lane.
Diane worked as a maintenance employee at SUNY Cobleskill for more than 30 years. She was dedicated to her work and valued by her colleagues. She was a voracious reader, reading a book a day at times. "Grandma Dede" cared deeply for her twin grandchildren, taking every opportunity to express her generosity. She was a good listener and a constant source of advice and support when needed.
Diane is survived by her loving son, Christopher A. (Esther) Vrooman, her two grandchildren: Maryn and Benjamin Vrooman, her sisters: Susan (Edward) All, Jonnie Jo (Frank) Beretz, Kathleen (Anthony) Kulesza, and Elizabeth (Dan) Olsen; her brother, Melvin Lane (Dean), as well as many nieces and nephews.
A period of visitation will be held at 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, August 9th at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. There will be no formal funeral service.
Memorial contributions in Diane's memory may be made to The American Cancer Society or The Community Library, Cobleskill, NY.
