Cobleskill- Diane Cecilia Jackson Iungano passed away peacefully at her home January 27, 2014. She was born April 11, 1937 to Hilda and Cyril Jackson in Herdfordshire, England.
She studied her passion for dance at The Marjorie Bailey School of Dance. This led to her professional career doing what she loved in other countries. It was during this time that she met her first husband, Graham Turnbull (aka Scotty Turner) and they married June 24, 1963. She was predeceased by him on February 9, 2009.
Her other career was as an administrative assistant at McGill University in Montreal, and SUNY Cobleskill. Her last employment was at General Electric in Schenectady, NY, where she met her current husband. Working at SUNY gave her the opportunity to use her dance teaching skills again. She choreographed over 80 productions with Cherie Stevens and Alyce Mickel.
She also taught ballroom dancing, tap dancing to seniors, and held an exercise class called "The Kinder, Gentler'. Some may remember her teaching at Studio North for a short time. Ushering at Proctors was another fond activity that she loved.
Diane was also a certified ground pilot. She adored travel, (especially to go back to England and Nova Scotia to visit her many relatives)adventure, knitting, sewing, children, animals, cinema and lately her weekly 'physio therapy', as she called it. She had a love for music, was a member of the "Red Hat Society", performed with "The Hot Pots", and always enjoyed visiting her husband, who for the past few years has been in Robinson Terrace, but he always had a smile for her.
She was an active member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, which she enjoyed every aspect of.
'Lady Di' (as most knew her by) will always be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humor, and bright smile.
Survivors include her husband, Anthony Iungano; her children: Trevor Turnbull and Adrienne (Jeffery) Cullen; granddaughter, Eve Cullen; Great-granddaughter, Sydney Wren Harwood; five step-children: Donna, Karen, Barbara, Joanne, and Anthony Jr.; her brothers: Keith, Ian, and Peter and their wives Sally, Rosalind, and Hazel; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
