Derrick Franqui

Richmondville- Derrick Wheat Franqui, 23, of Robert Street in Richmondville, NY, died Monday, August 15, 2011 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY after a brief illness.

Derrick was born July 4, 1988 in the Bronx, NY and moved to the Richmondville area in 1989.

He is survived by his biological family: his mother, Jamiese Manning of Baltimore, MD; his father, Derrick Manning of the Bronx, NY, his three siblings: sister, Aisha Manning, two brothers, James "Ricky" Burley and Jaylen Burley; his Grandmother, Brenda Wheat of Manhattan, NY,;and four half siblings. His is also survived by his adoptive family: Esther Franqui of Worcester, NY; and his adoptive five siblings, Mike Franqui, Karen Elkan, Kris Franqui, Robert Franqui, and James Franqui, and several nieces and nephews, as well as his ARC family.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM, on Friday, August 19, 2011 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill, NY. A period of visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-2 PM. A private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family in Richmondville Rural Cemetery.
