Dennis Shaw

Summit- Dennis R. Shaw, 72, of Mud Lake Road, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 27, 2022. He spent his final moments in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving wife and three children.
Dennis was born in Buffalo, NY on October 31, 1949, and was the son of the late Robert A. and Elizabeth J. (Bodie) Shaw.


Dennis took great pride in being an active community member and is widely known in the county for his business, Shaw Video Productions, by which he brought to life a variety of local historical documentaries, captured community events, and preserved precious family moments. He participated in community theater for more than 40 years, contributing to the Theater Project of Schoharie County for the last 16. Dennis was also a member of the Richmondville Historical Society, Marathon for a Better Life, Schoharie County Arts, and the Richmondville Zoning Board. His life-long passion and talent for music will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Cherishing their memories together are his wife, Posie (Christiansen) Shaw; three children: Zak Stahlecker, Skylar Shaw, and Sophia Shaw; granddaughter, Lillian Porteus; siblings: Robin (Frank) Bacik, Debbie (Greg) Van Pelt and Jeff (Pat) Shaw along with several nieces and nephews.


Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held from 4PM to 6PM on Wednesday, Feb. 2, and 2PM to 4PM on Thursday, Feb. 3 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.  Spring interment will be in Summit Cemetery.
