Richmondville- Dennis A. Lockwood, 60, of Cross Hill Road, died suddenly on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital.
Born March 16, 1953 in Cobleskill, he was the son of Walter and Cora (Boughton) Lockwood.
Dennis was a 1972 graduate of the former Richmondville Central School. He was a lifelong area dairy farmer, owning and operating Lockwood Farms in Richmondville.
Dennis loved playing basketball, and had a passion for airplanes and tractors, always dreaming of becoming a pilot someday.
Survivors include his partner: Jennifer Payst of Richmondville; three children: Jacob Lockwood of Broadalbin, Denise Lockwood of Norfolk, VA, and Luke Sommers of Ava, MO; his sister: Wanda Boynton of Summit; his brother: Rodger (Beverly) Lockwood of Richmondville; stepson: Dakota Wilson of Richmondville; six nieces; six great-nieces and five great-nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Jeffrey Smith of Richmondville United Methodist Church officiating. Family and friends are also invited to attend a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home on Sat., prior to the service from 10 to 11AM.
