David Paterson

West Fulton- David J. Paterson, 78, formerly of Staten Island, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital.
Born July 11, 1931 in Brooklyn, Dave was the son of James and Janet (Johnstone) Paterson.
Dave was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving from 1953 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1955 as a Staff Sargeant
He retired from New York Telephone Co. after thirty-four years as a special agent. While living in Staten Island, he was a member of St. Andrew's Men's Club and Tompkins Masonic Temple.
Dave and his wife moved to West Fulton in March of 1999 and attended West Fulton United Methodist Church. His hobbies included making stain glass windows and golf.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce (Hillmuth) Paterson, whom he married April 25, 1959; and his children: Tracy Ann (Ray) Pichler of Brick, NJ, James Leonard (Jodi) Paterson of Staten Island, NY, Glenn David Paterson of Staten Island, NY, and Tami Jean Paterson (Peter Vitucci) of Howard Beach, NY; and six grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, Jan. 29, 2010 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Neil Irwin officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM on Fri., prior to the service. Burial will be private following cremation.
