David Jones,

Carlisle- Mr. David A. Jones, Sr., 63, of State Route 20, died Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Fulton County Residential Healthcare Facility in Johnstown.

Born January 31, 1947 in Poughkeepsie, David was a son of William and Frances (Mommie) Jones.

He was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1965 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1967.

Dave was self employed, operating a septic tank business until retiring in 1985 when he moved from Poughkeepsie to Carlisle.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Finding most enjoyment in family time, he also had a love for older cars.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela (Powers) Jones, whom he married October 12, 1969; his four children: Maureen Loupin of Cobleskil, Kimberly Jones of Cobleskill, David A. (Julie) Jones II of Carlisle, and Darin (Christina) Jones of Glenville; his sister, Gertrude Brenner of Hyde Park; two brothers: Ronald Jones of Hyde Park and Fred Jones of Portland, OR; and nine grandchildren: Ashley Loupin, Laurie Bradt, Michael Bradt, Cal Jones, Henry Jones, Grant Jones, Nathan Jones, Nora Jones, and Lyla Jones.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, April 19, 2010 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Jared Van Wagenen IV officiating. Friends are also invited to a period of visitation at the funeral home on Sunday, from 7 to 9 PM. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
