David Becker

Cobleskill- David R. Becker, 60, of North St., died Sunday, November 12, 2017 at his residence in the care of his loving family.

Born October 23, 1957, in Cobleskill, he was the son of Preston W. and Catherine (Baker) Becker.

David was a graduate of Cobleskill Central School and retired after several years of employment at Camp Summit.

He was an avid NASCAR fan, along with cheering on the METS and the JETS.  Dave had a strong love and connection with his dogs and loved to watch the birds as well.

Survivors include his wife, Valerie (Larkin) Becker, whom he married April 23, 1977; his three children:  Kimberly (Matthew) O’Brien of Scotia, Timothy Becker of Cobleskill, and Christopher (April) Becker of Charlotteville; two grandchildren:  Jacob Becker and Aria O’Brien; three siblings:  Karen Philipp, Paul (Jane) Becker, and Linda Goodreau all of Cobleskill; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 6PM to 8PM on Wednesday at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.  A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the funeral home.  Officiating will be Rev. Colleen Quirion of Christ the Shepard Lutheran Church in Schoharie.  Burial will follow in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
