Conrad Radloff, Jr., 89, passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2020, with family by his side in Rockledge, FL.
Born in New York City on November 10th, 1930, Conrad was the son of the late Conrad and Frieda (Ahrend) Radloff.
Conrad proudly served in the US Navy Reserve and was deployed during the Korean War aboard the USS Lake Champlain (CV-39) throughout much of 1953 as part of Task Force 77.
While he called Schoharie County home, he retained a slight Staten Island accent that grew thicker with any good story about life down the Hudson as a corrections officer at Sing Sing Prison, life as a kid on Slosson Ave, or the Ahrend family farm. Retiring from the corrections service at Camp Summit in 1979, he grew his own business and started preparing taxes full time until 2000.
In late 2001, he retired to Florida with his wife, Janet, where they hosted a never-ending and fun-filled rotation of family & friends taking full, advantage of Florida warmth, sunshine, and 4pm cocktails.
Conrad was predeceased by his wife, Janet, in 2017. He is survived by his children Claudia Thompson (Larry), of Stafford, VA; Charles Radloff (Christina) of Rockledge, FL; and Glen Radloff of Wilton, NH; Eric Radloff of Cheverly, MD; William Waterbury (Vicki), of Naperville, IL; and John Waterbury of Schenectady, NY. In addition to his children, he has 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers: Robert (Patricia), of Atlantic Beach, FL and Edward (Barbara), of Bethel, VT.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service that will be held for both Conrad and Janet at the Cobleskill Rural Cemetery, Hillview Section on July 24th, 2021, at 11AM.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY 12043.
