Lawyersville - Clifford A. Palmer, 96, of Lawyersville Road, died Sunday, February 8, 2009 at his residence after a long illness.
Mr. Palmer was born October 14, 1912 in Summit, NY and was the son of Warren and Goldie (All) Palmer.
A lifelong area resident and dairy farmer, Mr. Palmer owned the Palmer Hill Farms in Lawyersville for many years prior to retirement. He was a member of the Schoharie County Farm Bureau and the Holstein Club.
Mr. Palmer was a former assessor for the Town of Seward, and was a member of the Seward Valley Grange.
He was a longtime, active member of the Lawyersville Reformed Church and also was a member of the Lawyersville Men's Club.
Enjoying bowling, he belonged to the Country League.
Survivors include his wife, Alice (Patterson) Palmer, whom he married February 8, 1933; two daughters: Beverly (John) Brooks of Glenville, and Regina (Floyd) Collins of Herkimer; a son: Richard (Joan) Palmer of Lawyersville; a brother, Maynard Palmer of Esperance; nine grandchildren: Clifford Brooks, Todd Brooks, Randolph Collins, Debra Peters, Sandra Annutto, Daniel Palmer, Brenda Marks, Lori Veshia, and Kenneth Sautter; and 19 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the Lawyersville Reformed Church, State Route 145, Lawyersville, NY. Co-officiating will be Rev. Wilbur Ivins and Rev. Jared Van Wagenen IV. Friends are also invited to attend a period of visitation at the church on Thursday from 11 AM to 12 PM, prior to the service. Spring interment will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
