Middleburgh: Clifford W. Campbell, 88, of Cliff Street, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 in the comfort of his home, following a long illness.

Cliff was born on January 6, 1928 in Huntersland to Anna (Schriedel) and Mace Campbell.

He was a 1946 graduate of Middleburgh Central School and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952 to 1954.

He worked as a furnace operator at General Electric before retiring.

Cliff was a member of the Huntersland United Methodist Church and the Middleburgh Historical Society. He was a former member of the Huntersland Volunteer Fire Department.

In his leisure, Cliff enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and attending local events. Cliff's greatest joy was attending his grandchildrens' sporting events, often showing up on his bicycle, which he also enjoyed delivering vegetables with.

Cliff was married to Naomi "Leigh" (Belden) Campbell on August 19, 1950. She predeceased him on August 19, 2007, coincidentally their 57th anniversary. He was also predeceased by his son: Gary Campbell on August 5, 2015.

Cliff is survived by his daughter: Cathy (Kim) Karsch of Middleburgh; son: Richard "Rick" (Val) Campbell of Middleburgh; sister: Audrey (William) Stumpf of Huntersland; grandchildren: Kass Karsch, Chelsea Raye, Ryan Karsch, Jared Karsch, Emily Karsch, Tyler Campbell, Keith Campbell, Kelsey Campbell; great-grandchildren: Christopher Karsch, Maile Mihaylo, Anna Sophia Raye, Brynna Raye; sisters-in-law: Gloria (James) LaGrange of Berne, Virginia Mann of East Berne; brother-in-law: Arthur Belden, Jr. of Cobleskill; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh. A period of visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10am-12pm, prior to the service. Spring interment will take place in Middleburgh Cemetery.
