Clarence Rorick

Middleburgh- Clarence E. Rorick, 89, of Straub Lane, died Saturday, April 8, 2006, at Bassett Hospital of Schoharie County in Cobleskill, after being stricken at his residence.
Mr. Rorick was born April 15, 1916 in West Middleburgh, NY, the son of Celer and Frances (Plough) Rorick. He was a lifelong area resident and a 1937 graduate of Middleburgh Central School.
Mr. Rorick had worked for Oneida Markets in Middleburgh, and then was a veterinary assistant for Dr. Lincoln Fields and Dr. Henry Doerge until 1983. During World War II, he was a volunteer for civil defense as an airplane spotter.
Mr. Rorick was a former member of the Middleburgh Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a communicant of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Middleburgh.
Mr. Rorick was predeceased by a sister, Charlotte Carmen, and 2 brothers: Leo and Charles Rorick.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years, Emily (Meckel) Rorick; 3 sons: Robert (Carolyn) Rorick of Whitesboro, NY, Gary Rorick of Schoharie, Michael Rorick of Albany; dear and close friend, David Lolik of Albany; a sister: Alice Brown of New Hartford, NY; 3 Grandsons: Jeffrey (Sarah) Rorick of Whitesboro, NY, Gregory (Angela) Rorick of New Hartford, NY, and Jerremy (Sarah) Rorick of Chula Vista, CA; 3 great-grandsons: Cody, Carter, and Cameron Rorick; and 1 great-granddaughter: Hailey Rorick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 12, at St. Catherine's Church Main St. Middleburgh, with Father Thomas F. Holmes as celebrant. . Burial will be in Middleburgh Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Middleburgh Emergency Volunteer Ambulance Corp. P.O. Box 817 Middleburgh, NY 12122.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Palmer & Shaylor, Inc. Funeral Home in Middleburgh and Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home of Cobleskill.
