Richmondville- Clarence “Chuck” M. Hoffman, age 76, of Richmondville, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at his residence.

He was born in Oneonta on January 7, 1942, a son of the late Raymond and Rosina Bowen Hoffman.

Mr. Hoffman attended Oneonta schools and was a Chef at SUNY Oneonta until disabled. Clarence has been in ill health for several years, before this he and Carol remodeled several houses in the area, which he loved doing. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and who can forget his famous spaghetti and meatballs, but most of all his grandkids were his passion. He will be remembered for his humor and abundant love.

Clarence is survived by his companion of 40 years Carol Johnson; step-children: Jackie Johnson (Ralph Hedman), Jeffrey Johnson (Ginny), Jillayne Burns (Jimmy), Joseph Johnson and Jamie Chase (Adam Strobeck); two daughters: Rhonda Hoffman and Brenda Wyckoff (Cecil); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Raymond and sisters: Delores Ferguson and Shirley Darling; several friends and relatives and his sidekick, Pugslee, his Pug.

There will be no calling hours.  A memorial service for Clarence will be conducted at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY.
