Root- Clara T. Meka, 65, of Darrow Road, died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at her residence.
Born October 6, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Ottmar and Elizabeth (Swartz) Sterk.
She was currently employed as a clerk at Temper in Fultonville, and had previously worked at Beechnut for twenty-eight years.
Clara was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and enjoyed crafting, especially crocheting.
Survivors include her husband, Alfred J. Meka of Charleston; a sister: Rosemary Suarez of Venus, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tues., July 24, 2012 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Joseph Cechnicki officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home prior to the service on Tues., from 9 to 11 AM. Burial will follow in Summit Cemetery.
