Richmondville: Cindy L. Jackson, 62, of Smith Road died Thursday, December 03, 2015 at her home following a brief illness.
Cindy was born in Cobleskill on July 29, 1953 to Virginia (Miller) and Orville Chandler.
She graduated from the former Richmondville Central School in 1971 and lived her entire life in Richmondville.
Cindy worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service from 1995 until retiring in November of 2015 and treasured her friends, coworkers and her "Richmondville Post Office family."
Cindy was devoted to her family and loved them all very much.
She was predeceased by her half-sister: Velma Albrecht.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Edward A. Jackson of Richmondville, whom she married on August 14, 1971 and her sons: Todd E. Jackson and Kurt A. Jackson of Richmondville; grandsons: Andrew Jackson, Matthew Jackson and their mother, Francine of Richmondville; sisters-in-law: Carol (Jeff) Tryon and Linda (Glen) Gallup of Richmondville; brother-in-law: Merritt (Debra) Jackson, Jr. of Kentucky and many other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Chaplain Wes Edwards officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held on Tuesday from 12 to 1 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in Richmondville Rural Cemetery.
