Richmondville- Christopher L., "McGyver" Morey, 50, of Beards Hollow Road, died Sunday, July 1, 2012 in the comfort of his own home.
Born June 29, 1962 in Cobleskill, he was a life long area resident. For the past few years, Chris was a milling operator for Hudson River Construction of Albany.
Known as McGyver to many, he was continually helping others as "Mr. Fix-it". He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Chris was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aeries #2695 in Cobleskill.
Survivors include his daughter: Ashley (Rick) Perry of Cherry Valley; two grandsons: Liam and Lucas Perry of Cherry Valley; his parents: Donald and Madelon (Hild) Morey of Howes Cave; three brothers: Donald P. (Wendy) Morey of Howes Cave, Jeffrey (Jacqueline) Morey of Milford, and Todd (Kimberly) Morey of Broadalbin; his special friend and caregiver: Melissa Scott of Richmondville; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no formal funeral service or calling hours. A celebration of Chris' life will be held at a later date at the family's convenience.
