Middleburgh-.Christopher "Chris" P. Lucas, 65, of Brooky Hollow Rd., died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY.

Born December 18, 1945 in England, he was the son of Henry and Sophia (McLean) Lucas. Chris came to the United States in his late teenage years and resided in Middleburgh.

For many years he was employed at Schoharie County Highway Department where he was a sign engineer..

Chris was a member of the Broome Center Chapel, Eastern Regional Drafthorse Assoc. and the Hudson Mohawk Chapter of the Pioneer Gas Engine Association

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Mike Lucas.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-seven years, Linda (Kingsley) Lucas, whom he married Nov. 14, 1984; two daughters: Tammy Lucas (Mike) Wood of Saratoga and Christine Lucas of Middleburgh; his sister: Maureen Martin of United Kingdom; his brother: Tony (Pat) Lucas of Australia; his sister-in-law: Maria Lucas and their families.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Middleburgh Cemetery, Cotton Hill Rd., Middleburgh, NY. Officiating will be Rev. Stanley Skinner of the Broome Center Chapel. Visitation will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Broome Center Chapel, care of Heidi Pickett, 109 Parsonage Hill Rd., Gilboa, NY 12076.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh and Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
