Christine Lee Becker of Middleburgh, NY, born on April 17th, 1950, passed away peacefully on May 1st, 2014, surrounded by loved ones. Christine was raised by a loving family; Grace Barber and the late Roger Barber along with her sisters Leslie, Mary, Susan, Lori and brother Jim. Christine's children, Tyler and Courtney, grew up in Middleburgh and currently live with their families in Maryland and Colorado respectively. In 1994, Christine married Christopher Becker of Middleburgh, bringing to the family Chris' daughter Lori Mollitor (husband Tim, daughters Johannah and Hailey) and son Keith Becker (wife Tiffany and daughters Alanna and Livy and sons Grant and Kash).
Christine loved spending time with her ten grandkids, nieces and nephews in the toy room, out at the pool and putting together puzzles. Christine would look forward to the trips to Florida with her husband that included walks on the beach, golf and cycling. We believe that Christine's proudest moments were when she was busy at her sewing machine, creating pump bands for kids with diabetes. Christine had sewn and donated over 1,500 pump bands that have made their way into the hearts of kids from Albany to Florida and as far away as Denver.
Christine is survived by her mother Grace Barber, husband Christopher Becker, son Tyler Radez (wife Michelle, sons Jude and Beckett), and daughter Courtney Suyat (husband John and sons Jake Ryan and Emmett).
Services will be held on Saturday, May 3rd at 4:00 pm at the Dutch Reformed Church of Middleburgh. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Christine's beloved foundation for Juvenile Diabetes research at http://jdrf.org.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home of Middleburgh and Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
