Sharon Springs- Cheryl A. Young, 54, of State Route 10, died Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Born January 30, 1957 in Cobleskill, she was the daughter of the Ada (Terpening) Wayman and the late Fred E. Wayman.
Cheryl was a 1975 graduate of the former Cobleskill Central School and lived in this area all her life. She had always enjoyed camping with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce W. Young, whom she married June 20, 1981; her daughter, Kristin Young of Warnerville and her son, Derek Young of Sharon Springs; her step-daughter, Samantha Hazzard-Young of Cherry Valley; her granddaughter, Bailey Jonker of Sharon Springs; her mother, Ada Wayman of Howes Cave; and her brother, Jim Wayman of Cobleskill.
A funeral service will be held at 4 PM on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Vena Ray officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 to 4 PM Sun., prior to the service. Spring interment will be in Bramanville-Prospect Cemetery.
