Cheryl Betts

Stony Point, NC- Cheryl A. Betts, 44, formerly of Cobleskill, NY, died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Iredell Memorial Hospital, Statesville, NC.

Born September 17, 1965, in Cobleskill, NY, Cheryl was the daughter of Shirley Terk and the late Miner Salisbury, Jr.

She was raised in the Cobleskill area and moved with her family to Stony Point, NC in 1998. She had worked as a secretary for Kenyon Refuse, also she was employed at the former Eden Park Nursing Home, and the Walmart Deli. Spending time with her family is what brought Cheryl the most pleasure. She also enjoyed camping and had a love for cats and dogs.

Survivors include her husband, Ernie F. Betts and their children: Jessica (Joey) Pardue, and Jason (Sadie) Betts, all of Stony Point, NC; her two granddaughters: Lillie and Jayla; her mother: Shirley (Ed) Terk of Seward; maternal grandmother: Sylvia Killmeier of Cobleskill; her sister: Gina (Doug) Angle of Wylie, TX; brother, Ben (Vicki) Terk of Texas; Brothers and sisters-in-law: Glen (Terri) Betts of Statesville, NC, Dennis (Cathy) Betts and Randy Betts, all of Richmondville, Diane (John) Roney of Warnerville, Jeffrey (Judy) Betts of Vale, NC and Tommy and Sandy Ostrander of Richmondville; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Pamela Mikel-Hayes of the Cobleskill United Methodist Church officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM on Wed. Burial will be in Zion Rural Cemetery, Seward, NY.
