Howes Cave- Charlotte B. Roberts, 76, of Ash Meadow Lane, died Friday, March 8, 2013 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital following a long illness.
Born May 9, 1936 in Philmont, NY, she was the daughter of Fred and Frances (Becker) Brooks. Charlotte was raised in Cooperstown and was a graduate of the Cooperstown High School.
She retired as a certified nurses' aide from Harlem Valley State Hospital after thirty-four years of service. Charlotte moved from Jackson Corners in Dutchess County to Howes Cave three years ago. Prior to Jackson Corners, she and her family resided in Pine Plains.
Charlotte and her husband enjoyed dancing and especially Polka.
She was of Methodist Faith.
Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, Roy F. Roberts, Jr.; two sons: Roy F. Roberts III and Steven M. Roberts; brother: John H. Brooks; sister and brother-in-law: Fredine and Robert Cooke; and brother-in-law: Fred Bennett.
Survivors include her son: Kirk Roberts of Howes Cave; two sisters: Sally Bennett of Cobleskill and Clara Holford of Media, PA; a brother: Fred R. (Alice) Brooks of Vestal, NY; sister-in-law: Matilda Brooks of Wappingers Falls; daughter-in-law: Teresa Roberts of Germantown; seven grandchildren: Benjamin Roberts and Crystal (Art) Kilmer all of Germantown, Amanda Roberts (Todd Brooks) of Claverack, Nick Fox (Kassondra Abreu) of Hudson, Steven, Rachel, and Sarah Roberts all of England; five great-grandchildren: Jasmin, Austin, Cheyene, Cassandra, and Aiden; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Cobleskill United Methodist Church, 107 Chapel St., Cobleskill with Rev. Pamela Mikel Hayes officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the church Wednesday prior to the service, from 10 to 11 AM. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery on Thursday.
